Winter Glamping in Texas. Is it fun?

Everything you need to know about winter glamping near Austin

Yes, winter glamping is fun in Texas! Winter is usually a wonderful time for glamping because the temperatures are mild and often absolutely perfect for glamping. Families tend to love winter glamping because they can hike and let the kids run around when it's not hot. Not to mention winter glamping comes with campfires, and who doesn't love s'mores? Couples love to get snuggly next to the fireplaces in our tents. Solo glamping guests find winter fantastic because of few crowds, hot tub weather, campfires, and stargazing. Winter is great time to rejuvenate yourself with a unique getaway.

Will I stay warm if I go winter glamping in Texas?

You'll be warm and cozy in our glamping tents. We equipped each glamping tent with an indoor propane fireplace that creates a ton of heat and is easy to operate. You won't have to feed wood into a fireplace or stoke it every half hour. Just turn it on and be warm all day. Even during the big snow storm of February 2021, our glamping guests were happy and warm inside the tents, even though the ground was covered in snow. Talula Mesa turned into a magical winter wonderland that week. Winter temperatures in the Texas hill country usually bounce between warm (60s-80s) and cooler weather (30s-50s) every week or two until March when wildflowers begin to appear.

Talula Mesa's indoor fireplaces will keep you toasty and warm all winter long.

In addition to the indoor fireplaces, each bed is equipped with an electric blanket, which is possibly one of the coziest inventions of all time.

Is winter glamping near Austin boring?

I highly doubt it! There's so much to do, and the mild temperatures make winter an excellent time for adventure activities like hiking, ATV/UTV rentals, hang gliding, paragliding, and mountain biking. If you're experienced on the water, winter is a great time for paddleboard and kayaking. If the weather is nasty, curl up with a book by the indoor fire, play a board game, or soak in the hot tub.

Winter is campfire season

There's nothing like a night around a fire, staring up at the stars to help you disconnect from everyday life. Plus...s'mores! Marshmallows, a little chocolate, wine, a cocktail, a crackling fire, a warm blanket, a dark sky. It's a winter glamping dream come true.

Make a hot cocoa masterpiece

Glamping guests have the option of adding a hot cocoa toppings bar and treat charcuterie setup in your tent. Alternatively we offer a similar hot apple cider bar or mulled wine set up in your tent, if that's your fancy. Of course, each grand-sized tent is already equipped with plenty of tea, hazelnut coffee, and medium-roast to warm you up on chilly mornings.
